Researches physical activity, outdoor engagement, and the social and environmental factors that shape health, with a particular focus on rural communities.
Dr. Griffith is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management and the Co-Director for the Public Health in the Park program. She has engaged with local, regional and state public health entities on various public health practice activities.
Dr. Hall is a Professor in the Department of Horticultural Sciences. He also co-leads the Plants, Nature, and Health Initiative, cultivating research, education, and outreach to explore and promote the connections between human well-being and the natural world.
Dr. Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning (LAUP) at Texas A&M. She uses approaches from public health and spatial analysis to understand and apply the behavioral health benefits of exposure to urban nature in evidence-based design.
Dr. Li research focuses on physical activity and cognitive health in aging populations, nature exposure and well-being, and health communications. Li's work established sports health communication as a field of study in China, and he was named a Top 1% Most-Cited Scholar in China (CNKI) in 2025.
Dr. Mouli is a Research Fellow at Houston Methodist’s Center for Health & Nature. She studies how built environments influence health outcomes, focusing on biophilic (nature-based) design strategies. Her interdisciplinary research bridges architecture, environmental health, and public health to inform the design of healthier spaces and communities.
Dr. Patterson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Behavior. Her research focuses on how social connections, positions, and networks impact the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Her research uses social network analysis to explore health and behavioral outcomes.
Natacha Poggio is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. Her teaching and research explore solutions to humanitarian issues with a human-centered approach. She focuses on design solutions to address problems in nature, health, sanitation, sustainability, and social justice within local and international communities.
